Today we went to the Teng Wang Pagoda. It was really neat even going back a second time for me. I forgot just how massive the structure is. There is a photo of it in my second entry. We then went to KFC for lunch and then to Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart was interesting to say the least. Everywhere we go it is so crowded. There are people everywhere. Today we ran into our first set of beggers outside the Pagoda. They wouldn't leave us alone--they kept coming at us with their cups out in front of them. They also have very little rules of the road. Marlene couldn't watch today when the taxi drove us around. They fly through the roads weaving in and out of traffic lanes almost rear ending the cars in front of them and about hitting 20 people on bikes at the same time. Waiting in lines is also a trip. If you are not touching the person in front of you, you are not really in line. They don't obey any lines but just budge in front of you. I guess if you always lived in a place with over 3 billion people you would have to be pushy too just to get by. Briley got to use her first squatters toilet today too. I would post a photo of it (yes, I marked the occasion with a photo), but it is kind of yucky!
People have asked about the other note I found in Teagan's sweater. It was the foster mother's address and phone number again, two more times. I had hoped for a letter with some information or a good wish, but it was not. The foster mother's name is Lui Mu Ying. She took a lot of time to sew the messages into her sweater. I will try to send letters and photos of Teagan to her in the future. When Teagan was having so much difficulty, I thought about asking Peter to call her. He said to give Teagan more time--he didn't want to call her just yet. He said it is difficult for the foster family. Teagan was wearing brand new leather shoes and a new snow suit with tags still attached. She wanted to make sure that I knew she cared for her by buying her new things to send her off to me in. I also got the little blue sweater she was wearing in her referral picture, 2 long sleeve t-shirts, 2 pairs of split-open pants, and 2 pairs of socks. Mind you, all of this was on Teagan's body. Not given to me in a bag.

Glad to hear Teagan is doing better. It was nice to see everyone in a group picture. Oh Yes! The Picture of the Wal-Mart Greeter, are you sure he was a pure bread Chinese... His eyes were a little squinty. Hard to tell even when I enlarge the picture. He seemed exceptionally tall for a Chinese man. Oh Yes, it's cold here!

Hi Debbie,
No Mountain Dew in China?? You mean to tell me Wal-Mart doesn't even carry it? They carry everything! Loved seeing the photo of the whole bunch. Everyone looks like they're having a great time and everyone looks great! Happy to hear Teagan is getting better and better! Although you say she's not sleeping the best, but that too shall pass, hopefully sooner than later for your sake! She's still a beautiful little girl and I can't wait to meet her. Emma saw the picture of Uncle Bob at Wal-Mart and just giggled, she loved it! Emma also said, "Teagan's pretty, and Hi Briley"
Everything here is fine! Don't worry about a thing, it's cold here, a low of 9 degrees tonight! Speaking of cold, it looks as if it's cold there too! Everyone is bundled up!
Thanks again for sharing more pictures of your journey! Keep them coming!
Hugs from me~

Oh- One more thing- Nancy told me that Aaron was so bad that they ended up taking him back to his foster mother to get him to settle down. this was after 5 days. She would not recommend this though. Sounds like it is going better for you. that's great!
Sounds like things are going better for you. That's great, I'm so glad to hear it.
Loved the wal-mart photos. Wow was that a big pile of rice. Teagan is soooo cute - love the smile!
So have Bob and Marlene seen any koi over there? How do they compare to those grown in "Lake Rupp" back here in NW Ohio?
Take care! We've really enjoyed the photos and the updates. So glad you started this site Debbie - it was a great idea and I love being able to share in your "adventures" as they happen.

I am so happy to hear and see that Teagan is feeling better. It looks as though all of you are having a better time. I hope that the rest of your trip just continues to see more good fortune and that Teagan gets to know her new family even more.
