Sightseeing Day in Nanchang

We went sightseeing today near our Hotel. Peter took us to the Sheng Jin tower and Buddist temple. It was really cool. Teagan slept the whole time in the stroller. She is making up for lost sleep and lack of eating. She is doing so much better today. She stills cries, but now only when tired or hungry. She is content more often and is starting to "talk" to us. She knows me now for sure as we have had plenty of opportunities to bond in the middle of the night when everyone else is sleeping. I hope she sleeps better tonight--I am ready for at least 5 hours of good sleep. Mom and Dad's eyes have really been opened to the poverty and living conditions of the Chinese people in this city. It is really sad to see some of the sights we saw today. But, the Chinese are very proud and friendly people. They would come up to us to look at the kids and say something in Chinese to them with a big grin. They especially tried talking to Briley. Tomorrow Peter is taking us to the Tang Weng Pavilian. I visited there in 2002 when I was in Nanchang to get Briley and the Pavilian is really cool. Peter has really been involved with our group on days off from adoption related functions. I think he enjoys the company.

Again, thanks to everyone for the kinds thoughts. Jodi and Andi, thanks for the ideas to help with Teagan. I really liked the one of smell with her clothing. I think that has helped too. Dad is doing better. He and Briley are both sleeping already for the night and it is only 7:50 here. I should be the one asleep already! I will post again tomorrow. Enjoy the pictures.

Looks like things are going much better. Glad to see that you all have been able to get out and sightsee and that everyone was happy.
Great picture of Teagan's smile. Great to see her looking so happy! HOpe this means that you are getting some sleep!
Looks like the weather is a little cold there. Will it be warmer the next place?
Say hi to your parents and Briley for me and have a good time. We will work on that Teagan's sitting when you get back!

Good Morning Debbie,
I'm so glad to hear that things are going better. I tried to reply a couple of days ago to let you know that I wih I was there to help, and that I'm a prayer warrior here back home. Please let me give you some help when you get home.
I'll keep praying for all of you.

Love
Tammy

Hey Debbie,
I just read your post again, I have an eggsersaucer you can use for Teagan until I'll need it back, which won't be for a while. Don't go buy one, unless you really want one, of course, but I'd be more than happy to lend you mine!! Hope you have a great day!

Glad to hear you made it and everything is going good. Mom eager awaits your messages every morning and night. She prints them off for Aunt Priscilla and reads them to Aunt Diane over the phone every day. Message for Uncle Bob : "Remember when we were kids and thought we could dig a hole deep enough to China? Well you got there only you had to dig in your pocket!" from my mom. Congrats and have a safe & fun time. Is it today or tomorrow there??????????
love, Paul and Aunt Betty.

Hi Debbie and Briley: Sounds like all is much better. Teagan just needs to take lessons from Al on sleeping. Would also like to see China - bet it is quite an experience. Tonight we are going out for Al's birthday. It is cold today. Have been having some trouble getting this posted. Hope it works. We all pray that you are safe and healthy.

Debbie:
Forgot to tell you that the pics are great! Actually, the woman does kind of look like your Great Grandma Haas.

Hi Debbie -
I am curious, is it not allowed to try to meet her foster family while you are there? Just talking with them would really help you get a handle on Teagan's likes and dislikes. Just a thought. Your page is now on my desktop for easy access. I will keep checking in on you.

Deb,
I am sitting here with tears in my eyes....just overwhelmed with how proud I am of you and how brave you are!! You have been so Blessed....the cooing and "talking" so soon....just means to me that she must have been really really loved by someone before you....but I think you already know that. The pictures are awesome. Keep them coming!! My dad is having triple by-pass surgery on Thursday so forgive me if I dont keep up for a few days.....my thoughts and prayers will still be coming regardless.

Love ya!!
