First full day in Guangzhou

Today was a fun day in Guangzhou. First of all, Teagan slept last night for 6 hours without waking! It was wonderful. I also had Briley in the room with us and for the first, my whole family slept in the same room. I woke up at my usual 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. I could hear Briley breathing to my left and I could hear Teagan to my right. I said a little prayer to God and thanked him for how fortunate and lucky I am to have 2 beautiful babies! Briley is doing better with Teagan every day too. She will be a good big sister!
When adoptive families stay at the White Swan, the hotel with Mattel provides each family with a Barbie doll titled "Going Home". If you enlarge the photo you will see the Barbie holding a Chinese baby. You can not buy these in stores.
This is Peter with Teagan. He is such a nice guy. I couldn't imagine this process without Peter as our guide. He helped out so much when Teagan was having a hard time. He also loves Briley and the other older girls. Today when Briley saw Peter, she put her arms up and ran to him calling his name. This is Teagan getting measured during her medical examination. All babies leaving China need to have a medical exam as part of the American Visa process. Teagan weighs 19 pounds and is 71 cm long. She got a clean bill of health.

After the medical exam, we went SHOPPING! Shopping around the White Swan is incredible. The prices are low and they will go lower the more you buy. We bought some really neat things. This afternoon, Peter took us on a tour of Guangzhou. We first went to the Six Baiyan Buddist Temple. While at the Temple, Peter asked one of the monks to bless the babies. There was incense burning while the monk chanted and was tapping with a stick on a wooden instrument. It was very emotional for me as I held Teagan while kneeling in front of the monk. Briley was also kneeling and receiving the blessing. Briley really got into kneeling on the knee cushions and acting like she was praying in front of the buddas. It was really very cute to watch her act like the other Chinese. Briley also told me that she can now speak Chinese--she thinks so anyway and makes a good attempt at it! After the temple, we went to a Porcelain shop where they were handpainting the porcelain (It's a new shop Joann and Julie). After the Porcelain shop Peter took us to the most crowded Pedestrian Street in Guangzhou and then to a dinner buffet there.

The weather here is better than in Nanchang and you do not see the poverty as there was in Nanchang. This is a really nice area that we are at now. Tomorrow morning, Mom and Dad are going to a Christian church. We have the rest of the day free to do what we want. Thanks for keeping up with my blogg and checking in on how we are doing. Teagan is a good baby and we are really getting used to her now.

It is so great to read this every morning and see what is new with all of you on the other side of the world! Can't wait to see you all.

Hi everyone!

The pictures are great! The boys and I loved the one of the BBQ pork sandwiches...how cute/funny! Teagan looks so happy now. I can't wait to meet her.

I have to tell you that last night I worked late and picked up KOs for supper and my fortune said "Good news will come to you from far away." I laughed and showed it to Doug. It is good news that Teagan is sleeping more for you at night. I'm going to hang on to this fortune until you all come home!

Have fun shopping and sightseeing. Bob and Marlene, I'd like to hear about the church you're going to go to.

Brady is starting to feel better now. Thinks he can play basketball later this morning. Trey has a scrimmage later today at Tinora too.

Love you guys!

Hi Debra Sue!

You don't know how happy I was to hear that Tegan slept 6 straight hours, that is wonderful news! Very exciting for you, now you can get some much needed rest! Also glad that Briley is sleeping with you and Teagan, I bet it was nice to have the whole family together.

Thanks so much for sharing pictures of your journey! I love seeing them everyday! I have to agree with Lisa, I love the Pork Sandwich picture. That was to funny! Someone put a lot of work into that! You know, before you know it you'll be coming home, which I can't wait for! I've seen pictures of Teagan, I'm just ready to see her face-to-face. The pictures make her look beautiful, but I'm sure she's even prettier in person.

Emma says "Hi Briley"! She looks like a very proud Big Sister! We'll check in again tomorrow!

Marlene and Bob - Everything here is fine. Don't worry about a thing. Nothing much new. No major news info or anything, other than the President was on every channel the other night! Enjoy yourselves!

Hugs from Archbold,
Sarah

Greetings to all!! I hope that this comment finds everyone having a great time. I am getting together with some friends tonight. They are calling for snow but who knows if we will really get it. It is so cold that Marlene, we need to knot some more comforters Ha Ha :). The pictures are great and I am always excited to read the updates and check out the new pictures.
My friend's husband just got back from China and brought back a Coach purse - keep your eyes out for one - it was cheap! I'll take one too :)
Take care and miss you all very much!

Greetings from Ohio:
Not quite so cold today - 36 degrees. Would love to have gone shopping with all of you. The girls look to be doing great! Want to hear about the church that you are going to on Sunday. The pics show a lot of color - Chinese must be colorful people. Teagan is taking after her Uncle Al. He loves to sleep. Later
