Pear Pickin' 101
1. Choose a beautiful late summer day when the air is turning cool and crisp.
2. Position an old wobbly step ladder under the pears you want to pick.
3. Climb up the ladder and reach as high as you can and pick as many pears as you can reach.
4. Proudly show off the pear you were able to reach. Drop the pear so your little sister will pick it up and put it in the pear basket.
5. Give your little sister a turn up the ladder even though she is too short to reach most pears. If you can't reach any pears, just shake the branch as hard as you can and the pears will most likely fall to the ground. Watch your head for falling pears. (And in my case, watch your lip too!)
