My friend, Danielle's son, Travis showed a dairy calf in his first year of 4-H. He looked so little next to his big 600 pound calf!
My nephew, Brady showed his rabbit. He won second in Rabbit Showmanship for his age. His older Brother, Trey won first place in Rabbit Showmanship for his age.
Briley made sure we attended the Goat show this year, as she is interested in showing a goat when she is old enough for 4-H. I know nothing about goats. The idea of a goat has appeal to her as some goats are shown with a leash (similar to a dog). And, you do not have to sell your goat project. She doesn't like the idea of selling an animal to market. We will see...I think starting out with a rabbit might be a better idea.

County Fair
We love going to the fair every year. When I was growing up, I was in 4-H and took a pig every year. Now, my nephews, cousins' children, and friend's children have 4-H projects that we enjoy watching. In 2 years, Briley will be old enough to start 4-H too.
Of course, with the fair, comes fair rides. The girls got ride bands on Saturday. Teagan got to ride the Ferris Wheel for the first time ever with my niece, Bentley. She was all smiles!
Briley and Teagan rode several rides with my cousin Sarah's daughter, Emma. Here they are on a Chinese Dragon roller coaster.
Teagan appears to have no fear as she marched right up the steps to the giant slide and went down all by her self.
Briley for the first year was tall enough to ride some of the big kid rides. Here she and Emma are on the 1001 Nachts ride (which they loved by the way and rode it over and over again!).
We attended many 4-H shows including the hog show, steer show, horse shows, goat show, and rabbit show. My cousin Jodi's son Lucas, won Senior Showman and Grand Champion Steer. It was his last year of 4-H and he went out with a bang. Tonight he will compete in the Showman of Showman competition.
Jodi's daughter, Kaitlin showed her steer with a broken foot! Her steer stepped on her foot the night before the show. She was still able to show and won Showmanship for her age and also won Reserve Champion Steer. Way to go Kate!

What an awesome Fair! My girlies would've loved it too - especially the rides! I think Briley will jump at the chance to have an entry in a couple of years to the Fair!
