More Information On Teagan

I have gotten more information on Teagan including a current weight. It appears she already weighs just over 17 pounds! At this rate, she will be twice the size of Briley when I got her. I wonder if they are weighing her with clothes on. Her medical report shows nothing unusual medically. All blood work came back normal. I found out her date of birth is an estimate based on when they found her (5/29) and by the condition of her umbilical cord. She was abandoned beside the gate of the Meterological Bureau of Fuzhou City. She is eating milk powder and nutritional rice flour (Yum!). She also eats steamed eggs, bean curd, and some soup. Her development looks on target as reported. They say she is cheerful, active, extremely smart and lovable. My favorite thing on the report says she loves being hugged, so I know she is getting lots of those already and getting good care!

Chinese names always have meaning attached to them. I have found trnaslations for part of her name. Her last name which appears first is "Fu". Fu means good fortune, luck, blessing and happiness. It is a character widely used in China at Chinese New Year when people hope for a happy, blessed year for their family and home. Teagan's first name which appears last is "Jing". Jing means "crystal, sparkling". Briley is already calling her Teagan Jing. Some people have asked where the name "Mei" (pronounced May) came from. I decided to use that as part of her middle name. In Chinese Mei Mei means "little sister". Briley is now a Jie Jie which means "Big sister". The Character to the side is Fu.
