The Year of the Rabbit has begun. This year, we decided to decorate my dining room tree to celebrate. When we were in China to adopt Teagan in 2007, China was decorated for the Year of the Pig. In the hotel where we stayed, I took this picture of Briley in front of a huge pig and a tree decorated with red envelopes and oranges. I knew that when I had a big enough house, I too would have a CNY tree.

My tree has paper lantern lights, red envelopes, Puca girls, and Chinese drum ornaments.

We had a party with other families with children from China last weekend. Here are the girls before the party dressed in their Chinese outfits.

Teagan had 2 outfits that fit her this year, so this picture is of the dress outfits she wore to church. She wore the pink outfit to the party.

I give the girls red envelopes every CNY. In China, children are given red envelopes with money inside to bring them good luck for the coming year. My girls get money too and also chocolate money.

Teagan at the party making a Chinese dragon. The children also made bracelets with Chinese beads, Chinese fortune telling games, coloring pictures, and Briley even made balloon animals. Chinese New Year is quickly becoming one of my favorite holidays!

All the children and siblings at the party.
