Briley graduated from second grade this week. All 150 second graders "graduated" because in our school district, the second graders will be leaving their Primary School and going to the Elementary School next year.

When I heard about this graduation, parents were invited to an "Awards Ceremony with Second Grade graduation". I didn't think they would do much about "graduation". Well, the kids paraded across the stage by class wearing white caps with tassels. Each class stood on the stage for parents to take photos. Then all the kids together sang a song that was a real tear jerker..."Watch As We Walk On Our Way".

The kids sat in folding chairs and seeing that sea of white caps made me think ahead 10 years. In 10 years they will all assemble again wearing caps and gowns as they graduate high school. It will be here before we know it. The awards ceremony followed. Briley got an award for earning 165 AR points--the most in her class.

Briley's had a great teacher this year, Mrs. McCaughey. She cried as the kids left school on this last day. She is going to be missed by Briley alot.
