I had vacation from work this week. Of course, we spent a lot of time at the Pond. The girls both love to swim. Briley had swim lessons the last 2 weeks and is starting to do some of the swim strokes and she mastered how to dive.

Teagan has shown no fear of the water. She jumps off the dock and goes under the water. She pops back up out of the water and is ready to jump in again. She loves swimming!

Teagan wears her "Froggy" when in the pond. It keeps her floating. I will have to do a video clip of her jumping off the dock.

On Monday, Briley and I went to Put-in-Bay for the day with a friend and her son. I hadn't been to the island since I was in college. A lot had changed. We took the Jet Express over to the island. Briley loved the Jet Express--we sat on the 3rd level (top level) of the boat.

On the island, we rented a golf cart and drove all over looking at the sights. We went down in Perry's Cave for the 30 minute tour. Briley was a little scared in the cave, but she is still talking about it so I know she liked it anyway.

Outside the cave, Briley got to mine for gems. She loved this part of the day the best. She found several nice gems. We also played putt putt golf. It was Briley's first time playing.

The photo below is the beach area on the island which had huge stones for the beach, so needless to say, we didn't go swimming. Lake Erie is very scenic though so we enjoyed the sights. Part way through the day, Briley said, "Mom, this is the best day ever!"

Then on Wednesday and Thursday, Briley, Teagan, and I along with a friend and her daughter, went to Pokagon State Park. The girls got to ride on horses--Briley's favorite. Teagan jumped right on the horse too and after the ride said, "Horse fun, is it!"

We spent the night at the Potawatomi Inn on Lake James. The photo below of the girls is in the water gardens in the middle of the Inn. It was so pretty.

This is Sarah with the girls swimming in Lake James. They built sand castles all day too. We had a fun week of summer activities. Before we know it, summer will be gone and school will be starting again.
