A couple weeks ago, my Dad and I put up a fence in my backyard between my neighbor's house and mine. I felt bad putting up the fence. Fences mean stay out, don't come over here, etc. But, fences also help keep my kids where they should be. The neighbor's house has been an eye sore in my back yard for quite some time as their garage looks like it could fall over any minute. Then to top it all off, they got a puppy (a big puppy) that would bark the whole time we were in the back yard. My back yard was no longer a peaceful place for the kids to play. I love the fence and how cozy it makes my backyard look now. I should have put it up a long time ago. Now, I just need to stain it and it will be complete.
Putting up this fence is also a sign that I need to stay put in this house a little longer. With the cost of gas continuing to rise, I just don't think that now is the right time to also take on a larger house payment. A bigger house would mean a bigger house payment, so I plan on continuing to save money by staying put a while longer. I still want to move, but not likely for another year. We will have to manage in this small house a while longer. Briley is happy that she won't be missing her neighborhood friends--down the street in the other direction from the new fence!
And now, introducing the Toilet Paper Bride!! We went to Kayleigh's wedding shower last weekend and one of the games was to make a dress for someone in your group to wear using only toilet paper, ribbons, paper clips, and tape. Our group won with Briley's dress, which only had 1 paperclip holding it together. She even had a bouquet and ribbons for earrings. It was fun! Briley is looking forward to being the Flower Girl on May 31st.
