Safety City

Teagan went to Safety City the past 2 weeks. She participated in a program for parents on Friday. She was so excited to show me what she learned. Every day at Safety city the children (all of which will enter Kindergarten in the Fall) learned a different safety topic from water safety, fire safety, and stranger safety to how to call 9-1-1. They rode a bus around town and learned about bus safety. They met a policeman and got to sit in his car. But, the most fun for Teagan was playing on the Safety town. They learned how to drive on a road and obey street signs.

It was so cute seeing all the children on the safety town. Teagan first rode a power wheel jeep. She took driving it quite seriously as you can see on her face below.

Next, Teagan was a pedestrian. She had to walk on the sidewalk and watch out for traffic.

Then, she got to be a crossing guard and hold the stop sign at the rail road crossing.

Her last job was riding on a big wheel bike.

The children then went inside and sang their safety songs they learned throughout the 2 week program. They wore stop sign graduation hats. (The little boy beside Teagan cried because he said he was too tired to sing!)

Teagan with the police chief who passed out the children's graduation diplomas.

Way to go Teagan...Be Safe!

Love this idea! What a great way to teach little ones about safety!
