We attended a traveling petting zoo at a local festival last Sunday. Briley loves animals. Teagan is not too sure about them just yet. What was so neat about this petting zoo was how close you got to the animals, and the animals were really neat!

The girls had carrots and hand fed most of the animals in the zoo. You could tell the animals were very tame and had been hand fed many times before.

I just loved this baby camel. The hair on top of his head was so soft and curly. Briley liked him too. He was in a pen with 2 African calves and a baby pot belly pig.

The highlight of the petting zoo for Briley was being able to hold a 3 week old baby lion. That's right...a baby lion named Leo. She couldn't believe there was a baby lion to hold. Briley loves lions for some reason--I think because of the Lion King movies.

Teagan wasn't very impressed by the lion as you can tell in this photo.

After holding the lion, riding the elephant was another treat for Briley. Teagan passed on the elephant because she said (in her words), "That elephant stinks! I don't want to ride that!" The elephant was named Laura and she was 27 years old.

Instead of riding the elephant, Teagan opted for this less smelly camel.

After a slight hesitation, she climbed on and off she went on the camel. My bad photography...I cut off the camel's nose. Oh well!
What a fun little petting zoo!
