Gung Hay Fat Choy!

That mean "Happy New Year" in China. The Chinese New Year, The Year of the Rat, started on February 7th. To celebrate, our little adoption group got together last weekend. The girls wore their Chinese outfits--Briley was so excited as she LOVES wearing Chinese dresses. At the celebration, the children made puppets and paper lanterns from the new Nick Jr. show "Ni Hao, Kai Lan". Here is Briley showing her puppet that she made. It is very important to me to teach the girls about China so they can be proud of who they are and where they came from. Briley already is especially proud of her Chinese Heritage.
From Chinese celebrations to a musical celebration for America, Briley's Kindergarten class last night put on the cutest little program. There was nothing sweeter than looking at Briley's sweet Chinese face and hearing her sing and celebrate that she is an American! The children all wore red, white, and blue and the songs were all about America. I got teary eyed at the end when Briley and a few other children were featured out front waving stars to the music as they sang. How cool...my Girls can celebrate that they are Chinese Americans and be proud of both!! ~Debbie

Debbie........What a nice update. And we are glad that you instill their Chinese background. They will probably grow up to be better flag waving Americans, than the rest of us. Keep up the good work and hugs to you and the girls
